Experimenting with an illustration for a vintage clothing shop. I think the glasses make her look more like a "Queen Bee" with her beehive do. I was really inspired by Christopher Silas Neal's recent illo of Jackie O in Real Simple magazine. Love love his work.
I've been trying to conquer Photoshop and Illustrator so I've been on Lynda.com a lot lately.
Have sketches in the works for a NYC assignment for Hartford which will be critiqued in San Francisco in March. This experimenting on the beehive is getting me a step closer to the process and look I like.
I have Vivienne Flesher, Brian Cronin, Ward Schumaker, and Christopher Silas Neal in my head and need to process them through as Murray says.

I did this in Hartford in July for Chris Payne/Gary Kelley's class. Began as a watercolor and then it went into Photoshop and Illustrator. I had various models for reference, teachers and classmates. This is a version of the original. Still experimenting....

This began as a traditional watercolor/gouache painting from an earlier post which I imported into Photoshop and then painted digitally. The original painting is small so it was hard to get the detail I wanted. With digital, I just hit ctrl + and I get as close as I want...nice. It's something I have been wanting to explore....there are pros and cons that come with digital painting. I have not yet decided how I feel about it....but I coouldn't stop once I started, so guess that says something.
...finished preparing digital files for self-promos...check that off the list.
...getting excited about trip to Dallas. It will be great to see everyone again.
